Inga Karetnikova is a writer, film historian, and critic who lives in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and
was educated at Moscow University and at the Moscow Academy of Fine Arts. She is a former Guggenheim, Carnegie-Mellon, and
Radcliffe Institute fellow, and the author of numerous books, among them Mexico According to Eisenstein and
How Scripts Are Made. She has taught various courses on film in this country and in Austria, Holland, Germany, and Switzerland and
has written scripts for the BBC in London.
